Broad Line Radio Galaxies: Jet Contribution to the nuclear X-Ray Continuum

چکیده

It is shown that, for Broad Line Radio Galaxies the strength of the nonthermal beamed radiation, when present, is always smaller than the accretion flow by a factor < 0.7 in the 2-10 keV band. The result has been obtained using the procedure adopted for disentangling the Flat Spectrum Radio Quasar 3C 273 (Grandi & Palumbo 2004) Although this implies a significantly smaller nonthermal flux in Radio Galaxies when compared to Blazars, the jet component, if present, could be important at very high energies and thus easily detectable with GLAST. The Nature of a Broad Line Radio Galaxy: Simultaneous Rxte and Chandra

We present the results from simultaneous Chandra and RXTE observations of the X-ray bright BroadLine Radio Galaxy (BLRG) 3C 382. The long (120 ks) exposure with Chandra HETG allows a detailed study of the soft X-ray continuum and of the narrow component of the Fe Kα line. The RXTE PCA data are used to put an upper limit on the broad line component and constrain the hard X-ray continuum. A stron...

A newly identified kiloparsec-scale X-ray jet in the high-redshift z=3.89 quasar 1745+624 is studied with multi-frequency Very Large Array, Hubble Space Telescope, and Chandra X-ray imaging data. This is only the third large-scale X-ray jet beyond z > 3 known and is further distinguished as being the most luminous relativistic jet observed at any redshift, exceeding 10 erg/s in both the radio a...

The black hole fundamental plane from a uniform sample of radio and X-ray emitting broad line AGNs

We derived the black hole fundamental plane relationship among the 1.4GHz radio luminosity (Lr), 0.1-2.4keV X-ray luminosity (LX), and black hole mass (M) from a uniform broad line SDSS AGN sample including both radio loud and radio quiet X-ray emitting sources. We found in our sample that the fundamental plane relation has a very weak dependence on the black hole mass, and a tight correlation ...

Nustar Reveals the Comptonizing Corona of the Broad-line Radio Galaxy

Broad-line radio galaxies (BLRGs) are active galactic nuclei that produce powerful, large-scale radio jets, but appear as Seyfert 1 galaxies in their optical spectra. In the X-ray band, BLRGs also appear like Seyfert galaxies, but with flatter spectra and weaker reflection features. One explanation for these properties is that the X-ray continuum is diluted by emission from the jet. Here, we pr...
